Teona Frelon
Violinist · Chamber Musician · Educator
Teona Frelon is a Georgian violinist, chamber musician and educator based in Berlin. As Co-Founder of the Kammermusiksalon Berlin, she helps shape public salon concerts, private concerts and chamber music programmes for special occasions in Berlin and Brandenburg.
Her musical training began at the Z. Paliashvili State Music School in Tbilisi, where she studied with several teachers and later received her diploma under Ernst Arakelov. From 2010 to 2016, she studied at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole in Italy, including with Lorenza Borrani, Alina Company and Pavel Vernikov.
From 2016 to 2018, Teona Frelon completed a Master’s degree in Performance with Pavel Vernikov at the Haute École de Musique Lausanne in Switzerland. She then continued her studies at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano, where she completed a Master’s degree in Pedagogy with Klaidi Sahatci from 2018 to 2020 and a Master of Advanced Studies with Alessandro Moccia from 2020 to 2021.
Teona Frelon has received several awards at international competitions. Her distinctions include First Prize in Tbilisi, Georgia, the Grand Prix at the Renaissance International Contest Music Festival in Gyumri, Armenia, and awards at the Premio Crescendo in Florence, Italy, including the Grand Prix, the “Premio Crescendo” and the title “Best Violinist 2014”.
For her studies in Italy, she first received a two-year scholarship from the Fondazione San Zeno as part of a Vatican City project. She was later supported in continuing her studies by a scholarship from the Regione Toscana.
She has taken part in numerous masterclasses with renowned artists, including Salvatore Accardo, Giuliano Carmignola, Natalia Gutman, Pavel Vernikov, Lorenza Borrani, Krzysztof Wegrzyn, Patrice Fontanarosa and Ingolf Turban.
During her studies, she completed a one-year internship with the Sinfonie Orchester Biel Solothurn in Switzerland. As concertmaster and orchestral musician, she has performed with the Orchestra del Luglio Musicale Trapanese, Toscana Classica, the Orchestra Giovanile Italiana and the Orchestra Leonore, among others.
From 2023 to 2025, Teona Frelon served as concertmaster in an orchestra in Eberswalde, Brandenburg.
Today, she increasingly devotes herself to chamber music, teaching and the concert formats of the Kammermusiksalon Berlin: public salon concerts, private concerts and classical live music for special occasions in Berlin and Brandenburg.
Teona Frelon is currently also a teacher at the Ecole de Musique – Deutsch-Französische Musikschule Berlin.
Teona Frelon plays a violin built in Berlin in 2016 by Ikuyo Sugimoto, generously made available to her by a private patron.
